Jammu and Kashmir High court Bar Association Srinagar observes a sharp rise in civilian and innocent killings by the Indian forces across the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Since 1st of January 2010 almost a dozen civilian killings have taken place at the hands of the forces and in this unabated spade of extra judicial killings young boys are deliberately and intentionally being targeted by the forces.
At Yakmanpora Parihaspora Pattan a young student namely Manzoor Ahmad Sofi was deliberately and intentionally killed by the forces believed to be belonging to 10 IRP. Similarly the occupation forces in Kalmpora Shadimarg Pulwama one Mushtaq Ahmad Mir was killed by the forces belonging to 62 RR Shadimarg Camp and SOG Pulwama who was asked to provide a human shield to the forces. Before these events Anayat-ul-lah Khan and 11th class student of Dalgate Srinagar was fired to death by the CRPF people stationed in Lal Chowk Srinagar alongwith whom one more student namely Zahid was fired upon by these forces who is struggling for life in the SMHS Hospital.
The Bar Association is in receipt of reports from various areas where the forces have leashed out a reign of terror and even the bereaved families are not allowed to mourn the death of their kiths and kins. In this behalf it is worthwhile to mention that in Handwara the bereaved family of 70 year old deceased Gh. Ahmad Sofi of village Ringpaith Kralgund Handwara was in clear cut terms directed by the concerned forces not to observe the Resm-i-Chaharum of the said deceased on 26.01.2010.In an extra ordinary meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association rich tributes were paid to the deceased persons and complete solidarity was expressed with the families.These killings were described inhuman and it was observed that the occupation forces have launched afresh oppressive methods to terrorize the people and unnerve the freedom loving people in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Bar Association is preparing a detailed account of Human Rights Violations and civilian killings taking place in the state since 01.01.2010 and will submit the detailed account of these rights violations and innocent killings to all international human rights agencies for their information and desired action to restrict the hands of the occupational forces from ruthless operations wherein unarmed, innocent civilians are targeted deliberately and intentionally by the forces.
