Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association pays rich tributes to Shaheed-e-milat on his 19 th Martyrdom anniversary and pledges to uphold the sanctity and honour of the blood of martyrs who have laid their lives for liberation of their mother land from Indian military occupation. In a statement General Secretary of the Bar Association G. N. Shaheen Advocate has said that Shaheed-e-milat was a torch bearer in the freedom struggle and his endeavors and sacrifice is an unforgettable chapter of our national history.
Today it is high time for the freedom leadership to introspect in themselves and sort out the differences, and lead the nation on path of freedom struggle with courage, wisdom and velar. The local and international challenges thrown to the freedom struggle by the passing events are to be met with all sensitivity and political statesmanship. In case the leadership is able to meet the challenges it will be in real sense a rich tribute to the martyrs and a consolation to the suffering masses.
Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association condemns the custodial killing of Manzoor Ahmad Beigh son of Abdul Ahad Beigh resident of Allochi bagh Srinagar who was arrested yesterday morning by SOG Srinagar at the instance of a Private person resident of Manzgam Brian Nishat on allegations of a transaction involving Rs. 40000/- interse between the deceased and the said complainant. Bar Association takes a strong note of the custodial torture resulting in death of the deceased Manzoor Ahmad and demands immediate legal action against the SP SOG Srinagar and his other subordinate official who are involved in the gruesome murder and demands immediate suspension of the culprits in order to bring them to justice.
On the basis of investigative information Bar Association is of firm opinion that the deceased Manzoor Ahmad was neither a militant nor belonging to any militant organization but was a pure businessman dealing in sale and purchase of Motor vehicles and it is a motor vehicle dispute which has become the cause of his death and the complainant instead approaching the legal authorities had chosen to use the services of SOG Srinagar and SOG Srinagar have committed murder of the deceased and are liable to be prosecuted u/s 302 of CRPC. It is demanded that the police station Shergari must register FIR in the case against the culprits and Bar Association feels it appropriate to call upon the appropriate authorities to press this statement as information for registration of the FIR. The Bar Association has decided to agitate the matter in order to bring the culprits to justice and save the people from the onslot of SOG Srinagar and other security agencies. Bar Association has also appealed the people to protest against this tragedy and express their anger against the gruesome tragedy.
G.N. Shaheen
