The J&K High Court Bar Association observes that serious and constructive developments are taking place at political and diplomatic level for just and honorable resolution of Kashmir dispute across the globe. In a statement issued by General Secretary of the Bar Association Mr. G. N. Shaheen has said that the respective Governments of various nation states preferably the United States of America and Republic of China and member states of OIC are seriously pursuing a discourse for peaceful settlement of the Kashmir issue. The Civil Society across the globe is showing seriousness for resolution of the two long standing international problems on Kashmir and Palestine. Entire world is cherishing for peace and stability in the middle east and in the south Asian region which peace and stability at present is in danger on account of the long standing disputes on Palestine and Kashmir. The Bar Association has accordingly decided to hold an international conference at Srinagar on 14 th of November 2009 and have decided to invite various global leaders and people interested in the resolution of Kashmir dispute and in this behalf invitations are being processed through the concerned embassies. The Bar Association has decided to send invitation letters to Mr. Bill Clinton Ex-President of U.S.A., Nelson Mandela Ex-President of South Africa, Mushahid Hussain of Pakistan, Arundati Roy from India, Noam Chomaski of U.S.A. besides other global leaders and leading intellectuals. Further all concerned from both parts of J&K and Kashmiri leaders working for resolution of Kashmir dispute at international level are also being invited to take stock of the growing developments for resolution of Kashmir dispute at international and sub-continental level. The topic for discussion has been chosen in the proposed conference as “ Global discourse on resolution of Kashmir dispute.”
