PRESS RELEASE
HCBA/PR/09-56 DATED:10-10-2009
The
Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association describes 27 th October as the black day in political history of the Jammu and Kashmir as on this day in 1947 the Indian occupational forces landed in Jammu and Kashmir with a sinister design to occupy the state of Jammu and Kashmir and since then the Indian forces and the Indian rulers are subjecting the people of Jammu and Kashmir to worst kind of state repression in which more than six lakh people have been killed till today by the occupational forces.
In an extra ordinary meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association presided over by Mian Abdul Qayoom President it was decided to observe 27.10.2009 as the Black Day and the people of Jammu and Kashmir were appealed to observe absolute shut down and blackout on the said date to express its anger against the Indian occupation and resolve to put an end to Indian occupation in Jammu and Kashmir. It was observed in the meeting that the Indian Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh is reading and speaking against history on the dispute of Jammu and Kashmir. His recent statements on the Kashmir dispute are not only negation of the history on his part but his statements are in total contravention of international diplomacy, political ethics and ground realities. In the meeting it was said that Kashmir is a dispute recognized by the international community and its resolution is imperative in the given situation as it obtains in the sub continent.
It was observed in the meeting that Dr. Manmohan Singh is visiting Kashmir on 18 th of October 2009 with a purpose to send a message to the outside world that everything is right in Kashmir and ridicule the Kashmir freedom struggle. Accordingly it was decided that on 18.10.2009 a protest strike shall be observed throughout the state on the eve of Dr. Manmohan Singh’s visit to Kashmir and people are requested to observe shutdown on the said date to register their protest against Indian occupation and resentment against the Indian prime minister.
