ABOUT US
The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Srinagar is a voluntary association of practising Lawyers. The office bearers of Association are elected every year by way of a secret ballot and election is held by an independent election commission, the chief election commissioner takes charge of every task related to the conduct of elections before a prescribed period from the elections. For 2013-14, following members were elected:
1)                 Mr.Mian Abdul Qayoom, President.
2)                 Mr.Ajaz Bedar , Vice president.
3)                 Mr.Mohammad Ashraf Bhat,,Gen. Secretary.
4)                 Mr.Anwar-Ul-Islam Shaheen, Joint secretary.

ANNUAL JAIL VISIT REPORT - 2012
The Jammu and Kashmir High court bar Association as usual interms of its decision visited various jails in Jammu division including district Jail Poonch sub jail Rajouri, Central jail Kotebalwal Jammu district Jail Amphala Jammu, District Jail Kathua and sub jail Hiranagar Jammu to have interactions with the jail inmates and the jail authorities about the inside conditions of the jails and problems faced by the inmates. JAIL VISIT REPORT- KISHTWAR JAIL - 2013
The  newly inaugurated District  Jail Kishtwar  was visited by ateam of lawyers of the High Court Bar Association on 12th April 2013. The visit was conducted in pursuance of the orders of the Hon’ble High Court passed on 28.12.2012 , in CMP No: 2850/2012  filed in  OWP No: 767/2006, case titled J&K High Court Bar Association vs State of J&K & Ors. VISIT TO KIRNI VILLAGE
Introduction: Kirni village is at a distance of some 20 kilometers from Poonch town near LOC in Tehsil Haveli of district Poonch of the state of Jammu And Kashmir. On the other side of the border is Forward Kohuta of Pakistan Administrated Kashmir. In last 60 years of India Pakistan Conflict Poonch District is one of the most affected parts of J&K State

REPORT REGARDING DOODIPORA KILLINGS

Doodipora is a small village, which is 6 kms away from Handwara Town. There is only one road, which connects the village with Handwara town. There are about 70 houses in the village wherein some 600 people reside. There are two schools in the village. One Government Middle School and the other Public Model School run by the locals.

JAIL VISIT REPORT- KISHTWAR- NOV 2013
(Part -II)

The district jail Kishtwar is located at a hillock and is 3 km away from the town. On 16.11.2013 there were in all 126 prisoners lodged in the jail, out of which as per the jail record 85 were ordinary undertrial prisoners and 41 were detained on militant related activities.The jail superintendent, Muneer Hussain Khan, who has been posted in the jail on 08.09.2012 and has been working as such since then informed the Bar team that ever since he has taken over as jail superintendent, committee appointed by ....

WRITINGS OF G.M. SHAKIR (ADV)

Mr, Ghulam Mohammad Shakir (Wani), Advocate is a prominent lawyers affiliated with the J&K High Court Bar Association since 1994 and at present is a part time lecturer in department of Law University of Kashmir and is teaching Islamic Laws with preference in the department. Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Shakir Advocate is well known for his writings on religion. His comperative study on religions is acknowledged at intellectual and scholarly levels. The Bar Association is thankful to him for his writings which have earned a lot of interest at international level.
