MEANS OF ATTACK
By G .M. Shakir  (Advocate)

In our society, it is generally believed that woman is cause of tussle and clash between individuals, but this notion is completely wrong. The woman is most respectable being, in every form of relation she is most devoted, affectionate as mother she’s having much forbearance as wife and some times have sacrificed her life for the husband. She stands through thick and thin with her husband. However, it is unbridled sex as creates the problems, which is out come of unbridled freedom. In other words when she is instigated to surpass and forget all the restrictions put on her by the religion, problem crops up. Islam never wants to eliminate any quality of human being but only certain restrictions are put on it. As eliminating any quality will be a damage to society. Those restrictions are necessary for betterment of the society, of bringing up of the children in a safe atmosphere and to make them good citizens for the future. For channalizing the quality of reproduction, marriage has been declared as Sunnah and who turns down this tradition of Prophet (SAW) has sternly been condemned. The Prophet (SAW) has disliked remaining single as it is very difficult to remain chaste without marriage.

The Quran shows its intention towards this wrong in the words. “Do not commit adultery, it is shocking and an evil way to behave.” Accordingly all the doctors of Islamic law have consensus of opinion that all the acts and the deeds which lead, facilitate and make the atmosphere conducive for this act are prohibited. Besides, this verse they get the support from the Sunnah. The conduct of the the Khulfas was taking every care for saving the people from this act. H.Umar (RA) saw a lady talking on road, to man. He started beating the man. On being informed that he was the husband of the lady, H.Umar (RA) expressed more anger by saying that the act is not proper because this will arouse the lust in the people who were seeing them. This act is non compoundable as well as offence against state in Islam. The dire punishment has been provided by the Islam for this offence. Awarding the sentence in the offence is not only legal duty but it has also-been held “Din”

The Quran say “flog both the adulteress woman and man with 100 lashes and do not let any pity for either party distract you from {complying with} Allah’s religion if you believe in the Allah and the last day.” The reason for holding it so is obvious. Once this act becomes rampant the fall of society starts. A news item appeared in the T.V channel “AAj Tak” pertaining to a hospital in Chennai. A large number of couples, apparently married, came to hospital and after the delivery of the children whisked from the hospital leaving the children in the hospital. The hospital authorities are facing the problem as to what they will do with these children, who were of course abandoned and unwanted. Now the hospital authorities are thinking of making a demand for the ration card at the time the admission is sought, by a pregnant woman, for delivery in this hospital. Many other problems are also arising out of this extra marital relation. In many countries family system has collapsed and S.T.D spreading very fast.

The Quran on the other hand shows that Satan became jealous of Adam when he was asked to bow before him. He made it manifestly clear that he will leave no stone unturned in leading the human beings astray. His first attack against the human beings was taking the Adam and Eve to the prohibited tree by deceit. When they took something out of the prohibited tree, their private parts, hither to concealed, appeared and they fell ashamed. Quran says “So Satan whispered to them to show them both their private parts which had gone unnoticed by the either of them… once they had tasted the {trees fruit} their private parts became apparent to both of them, and they started to patch together leaves from the garden for themselves.” So the first attack of Satan on human beings was by undressing them and since that date he is attacking the human generation by the same act. Maybe sometimes by the very noble and attractive terms of art, culture and freedom.

The Quran has clearly warned that he will always attack you in the manner he attacked your father “children of Adam let not Satan seduce you, in the same manner as he got your parents out of garden, striping them of their raiments, to expose their shame. Quran warns that attack of Satan will be always as he did with your ancestors. He by his trick undressed your parents, and practices the same trick on you.”

Islam has accordingly laid down grave punishment for this offence. Even the overt acts of sexual relations beyond marriage have been awarded punishment and have been declared liable of Tazeeri punishment and such a mention is still existing in Islamic law. All the kinds of the free mixing have been directed to be curbed. There is no room for Muslim to join beauty contest or to take part in Valentine day like functions. How can Islam tolerate such functions when it does not allow to gaze the opposite sex and directs to keep the eyes downwards “Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and be modest. That is purer for them. Lo! Allah is Aware of what they do. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest,.”

Islam never prescribes a particular dress but there is absolute restriction on exposure of boy. The dress of opposite sex is also banded for both sexes. The voice of female must be in low tone and she is supposed to abstain from talking to strangers in sweet voice. Certain persons claim that the prohibition “lower the gaze” is applicable only to gents but, besides the Quran the Prophet (SAW) has also interpreted and directed it to be binding on both sexes. Ibni Ummi Makhtoom (R.A), a blind companion of Prophet (SAW) used to come to Prophet (SAW) and the mothers of believers did not observe the rules of privacy. H. Aisha (RA) once came before him and she was asked by Messenger (SAW) as to why she did not observe privacy. She pleaded that man was blind. The Prophet (SAW) disapproved the argument by saying that she was not blind. The ladies have been directed to show their charms to none except the relations within the prohibited degree of marriage, whatever the reasons may be we are doing such things in the market which were to be done in home and vice versa. That is one of the reasons of increasing the divorce rate and broken homes.

The copying of western society has taken us to situation and thinking as was of the police man who asked at gentle man along with his wife in a motor car, during the curfew in Karachi, to show his curfew pass. Several times the policeman asked the gentleman same question and was replied. Lastly the gentleman became frustrated and said “you are a strange person, again and again you are putting the same question to me.” The policeman replied “you are the strangest person of the world what you were supposed to keep at home, you have got that out, and whatever you were supposed to bring with you: you left it at home. As the gentleman had left the curfew pass in his home and taken wife with him for a drive.
